I had a recent report that camping on the island is suspended indefinitely.

Apparently some local youths destroy the outhouses.

Thanks for clarifying the mystery! I called down there on Sully's hint but got the recording every time. I checked the website - no indication. I didn't try Reserve America because we never use the on-line reservable sites anyway, but now in retrospect they might have a notice there.

Well, the state of MA cashed the check for the advance payment - but frankly I'd rather have the time on the island. We'll see what happens between now and August.
