FYI -

sorting through a stack of papers today, came across an old article titled "The structure and function of fish schools". It's from Scientific American, 1982, Vol.246 (not sure which issue), pages 114-123. By Brian L. Partridge.

It talks about how and why fish school, and - most importantly - how they react to predators, etc. may prove helpful in how you fish your fly in the presence of schooling baitfish.

Wonder if Scientific American sells back-copies? I'd be fascinated to read that.

Juro,

I imagine you could find out the answer to that one on their web site (I assume they are on the web). Or, the local library may have it archived (at least on microfilm, which can be printed).

WOW, THANKS! I would love to read that article. I hope they have a section on how to get individuals to break from the pack to chase my fly
