For those of us who live in Washington. This is the time to head for the Skagit River. The conditions will be about as perfect as they can be this Sunday for hooking into a winter steelhead. We have had a very good rain Thursday night into Friday morning. The river is now cresting from the additional water. http://wa.water.usgs.gov/realtime/htmls/skagit.html
The river will drop and clear tonight through tomorrow. Making for perfect conditions on Sunday. I will be checking out my gear and tying flies. I feel a great day on the river is coming. This is what a winter steelheader lives for! Man am I getting exited!

I hope you realize that you are dRiVinG mE cRaZy!!!

The last time I fished the Skagit was with brother Andre under the sharp eye of Ed Ward (aka steelhead bum) on a stretch where Dec Hogan was finishing up with a couple of clients. I got hammered by a chrome bright fish that earned it's freedom after a long fight. It came to one of Ed's intruder patterns, which if you ever get to see it's worth study. Talk about innovative!

Good luck tomorrow - I hope there is a rendezvous with a silver submarine in the cards for you!
