Hit PI point this morning 3:45-5:30. Fished from the first point below the party boats out onto the main sandbar. Once again a stiff NE wind. Didn't pick up a fish the first hour. The few fish I did hit after that were micros nothing over 13-14", o/w clouser did best. At 4:45 I was the only guy on the bar by 5 there were 8-9 other guys working the backside with a fish caught here and there. Met up with Eric and he hadn' done much better. Thought about trying another spot or two but the lightning crackle on the radio and approaching black sky took away the urge to wave a graphite rod around in the air.

Started at 3:30 AM. Small stripers showing in the lights aroung the charter boats (again). Tough, tough fishing. The stripers would not touch even the smallest, softest marabou patterns. I swear they are on shrimp. The surface feeding involves no spraying bait and is pretty gentle.

This feeding pattern is intriguing to me. I am determined to figure out this feeding station area.

I am desperate for any suggestions. Anyone have any pattern recommendations for Merrimack shrimp? I hear they invade the tidal rivers this time of year.

Got one fish for 3 1/2 hours of fishing. Saw a fat, fat keeper caught (and taken) in front of the boats by a clam slinger. This thing looked like it ate a school of mackeral all by itself!

Hello Eric;

I fished behind the party boats late last week for a few days and on Friday my fly was snagging something - I was not sure what it was but then on my third cast I noticed a small, light tan colored shrimp impailed on my fly. They had to have been very thick down there! I caught some schoolies and no doubt that is what they were feeding on. I was unaware that shrimp could be found so thick - also I thought that you would find them concentrated in the grass? Not much grass behind the party boats. Perhaps it's a mating swarm or somthing?
