Another first in my fishing journal, Last night fishing an inlet on the south side, Falmouth. First ever weakfish, cool looking fish, about 15" or 16", then only one striper, about 20".

Nice going Brian!
I have never caught one of those and have not heard much about them... that must have been a surprise.
Awesome! Great to hear you caught a squeteague, I haven't caught one since before moving out west but I saw a bunch one evening. Also heard from Marvin that spanish macs are already on the rhody coast. The blues pushed hard and far this spring too. Good time to go look at the surface temp sites to see how the imagery looks for a future frame of reference.
I wouldn't know one of these if I pulled it in. So here:

Lefty,
I did have to check the guide once I got home to confirm my catch, also, the pictures don't do it justice. What a great lite purple sheen. Cool looking fish!

Yes John, I was totally surprised.

Next, I'm still a virgin at the little tunny. But I think this is my season of firsts, First legal striper on a fly, first weak, first tunny? I hope! Also, first clave. Lets not start that again.

I keep this up, I'm going to need to start carrying around some protection! Anybody got any of them Trojan Flies?
Those flies you mentioed, those are those scary looking squid flies right?

The squeteague! Hardest species to get the slam. You don't find em, they find you! Good work.... now on to the hard tails.

I think that's an individual thing, John. But don't worry, I know a good physciaratrist. (she can spell too!)
