Know any tricks to cure "throwing"?

When conditions are good and I'm relaxed, casting is easy and I concentrate on the fishing. When the wind comes up or I'm caught up with the sudden need to make a l-o-n-g cast, my form goes in the trash and I usually catch myself "throwing."

Yesterday, I had the day off and spent the morning trout fishing on a fairly large river. The wind came up and suddenly I found myself flailing away and getting frustrated with my casting. I had completely regressed to throwing rather than casting. This happens to me a lot at the Cape when I'm dealing with the wind or I'm in a situation where I need to try to cast past my normal comfortable casting range.

Does anyone know any tricks or tips to help me shake this horrible habit?
(I know I need to spend more time fishing/casting!)

Thanks for any ideas,
Bob
