teflon_jones If I'm fishing for something with an 8 wt, I've honestly never found a fly that I would use for that species that's so big that I couldn't cast it with an 8 wt. Wind is the only limiting factor, not the line or rod. Whether it's a big Clouser or a 6"+ slug-go imitation, the 8 wt can handle it. However, I don't use any heavy sinking lines, which I think would make casting these big flies a challenge.

8wt flies/poppers/streamers

What are the largest flies/poppers/streamers that you can effectively cast with an 8wt?
