tonyd Fiberglass seems to be making a bit of a comeback these days.Aside from the companies already mentioned,Diamondback/Cortland has also just introduced a new rod that is said to be VERY nice.

Eddie The Scott Fibertouch(the 4wt) and Winston retro(brown) glass rods are very nice.

John Desjardins I built a 3 wt on one of the Lamiglass blanks Fred is talking about last year. I think they sell the rods as their bush creek series. Its nice for in close work & brushy streams. When relaxed it seems to cast itself with just a flick of the wrist. My problem is when I see a rising fish and fire a cast to to it only to have the fly fall far short because I rushed it and didn't let the rod do the work.

Check out Lamiglas.

I know they still make several rods using "S Glass," which I think is still one of the best products to ever come off a manderl (sp?).

Fiberglass Fly Rods

Does any company still make a good fiberglass fly rod?

I want to get me another glass rod just for those trips back to my childhood fishing days...

I'm not old enough for the willow poles and bamboo only era, just missed it.

Anywho, if you could send me in the right direction, I will forever be greatfull...

Thanks:

cohocola
