Are the Pinhooks in Lake Superior only ?

I don't think I would recognize one if I caught one would think it was a deformed salmon of some type, and want to get it off my line ASAP .

They have them in Lake Superior either the Ste. rapids or Garden river. They run fairly large and are around when the kings and pinks hit the streams.

Lots of guys catch them up there timing is the key.

yep...

Lake Superior sustains an adequete population of pinooks. Rivers such as the Garden can have good numbers of them at times. Both kings and pinks spawn in the Garden, and the numbers are enourmous. Sometimes the result will be the genetic cross of this Pinook!

The Garden is an amazing river, gets way too much pressure now.

Guess a Superior one day grand slam would be Atlantic, Steel, pink, king, and Pinook. Funny thing is that goal is possible believe it or not.

Aren't many coasters around, besides they are char and not salmonids so you could take them off the list.

Only because of where we live. If we lived near them we probably would have caught a couple by now.
