New video

Last night I viewed the latest Mike Laptew video, Understanding Fish and How to Catch Them (Volume I). While there's nothing groundbreaking in the tape, it has some awfully nice underwater footage of several species of gamefish and how they relate to bait.

The majority of the tape features Lefty Kreh chasing stripers around Cuttyhunk Island. No surprises here as he goes through the usual process of elimination in finding and catching fish, but it's a great display of Lefty's personality and casual demeanor. And yes, with the help of his host, he finds stripers.

Volume II is due out some time in the near future and will feature topwater action and more details from Lefty. In the meantime, Volume I might make a nice stocking stuffer.

Man it sure does fly.......

I'll have to look for that video then. I'm curious what he has done with his underwater stuff. There are a few World Record browns here that I would love to get on underwater video. I can get fairly close to them during the day time so they would probably make some really good video subjects. The only thing about them is that once they are disturbed they may not run but they quit eating. These guys are definately the top of the food chain.

he uses a rebreather

I was talking to Mike(can't remember where) and he said he uses a rebreather. They are very dangerous in the wrong hands, but the rush of air from scuba gear scares too many fish ,so he uses one. Tom D
