The Nissitissit flows out of Nh into Pepperell MA, then joins the Nashua river.

Domenic,

Did they stock the Nis yet? How 'bout the Squan?

I figured they might skip those 2 rivers this year because last time I visited the nis (May) it was reduced to a trickle.

The lower Swift has been stocked up. I took friday off of work last and introduced the newbies to a few thread midge patterns

According to the latest list of stocked waters from the Commonwealth both the Squannacook & Nissitisset are to be stocked this fall. Ssully said elsewhere that the Squanny has been stocked this week. I wouldn't expect too many fish to have held over last summer .

Are all the fish in this river stocked? What size fish do you get and what kind (ie. rainbows...Browns etc)?

Most but not all of the fish are stocked. I think sections of the Nis support a resident population of brookies and browns. Have caught lots of healthy looking little guys of both species anyway

I have caught a couple of big holdover browns at the Squan but the majority are stocked brookies, bows and browns. Hmm...wonder how those holdovers get so big?

Both rivers also contain an impressive population of chubs that like to test your reflexes when they come up for your dry

Might be a good idea to call the DFW before making the trip. Unless we get a major rain event I don't think either river could support a population of trout for too long Especially with all the worm slinging poachers that cross the line into the C&R FFO section on a regular basis
