Thumbs down NH skunking

Went out after work last night and fished the 1A stretch in Rye/Hampton. Saw one pod break briefly and plenty of bait, but not much action overall.

Heading out again tonight, it's got to break open sooner or later.

Matt,

Good fishing with you at PI tonight.

Some peanuts, some diving birds here and there but not much action from 5 PM to 6:30 PM.

Headed North on 1A and wet a line but to no avail.

Didn't fish much but had good feelings about Boar's Head.

Let me know how you fared after we parted ways...

Still have never been skunked at PI (10 trips or so).

-Mike

Mike, it's good that one of us could avoid the skunk last night! I should've stopped at Boar's head, I had a good feeling too, but ignored it. I ended up driving a ways up 1A and fishing a little bit without any success.

On my way south the guy(Norm) that was out at Boar's Head in they red kayak was at his car. He said it was pretty slow, but that he'd got a few.

Maybe on thursday...

Man,

Where is the hot NH coast action of year's past? I know that some are experiencing it but I have come to one conclusion:

I am going to Rhody or the Cape this weekend!

I am game for trying the NH coast a bunch next week too Matt.

I don't know where those fish are, I'm hoping they're still in Maine staging for the big migration, but who knows.

I'll probably head out tomorrow and hope the swells have stirred things up a bit, after that I'm off to MV next week, so tomorrow could be my last NH trip for a while.

Oh they're coming. I was into them in a snow squall last Oct. Patience.

Lefty, I think I got into the fish you're talking about in NH last October too, but the fish I'm puzzled about are the fish that've shown up in NH about this time the past couple of years. they're a bit smaller than the fish I saw in Oct last year, but there were some good fish mixed in there, and there were a lot more of them.

I'd love to catch those Oct. fish on their way south again this year, but I could use a few early migrators to hold me over until then.

Patience.

I heard about that stuff once. I should pick some up.

It has just been too long since I have caught a >20 inch striper...

I'll be in Waltham 9/30-10/4 and wouldn't mind hitting some no. shore P.I. spots. If anyone will be about any evenings that week. Mike you had said maybe you and perhaps Jeff B may be into it. Whats the latest?

Chris,

The latest is that the North Shore has been on fire for a week or so. The flames will probably lessen in the next 2 weeks but we can hit some nice spots and hook-up when you are in Waltham.

Drop me an e-mail the week before you come down and we can make plans.

Talk to you soon...
