Anybody here see the whales?

A bunch of whales beached themselves in Dennis. Too bad some of them died, but at least most of them seem to have survived.

Here's an article:

Haven't seen the whales this year. Two year ago 2 pilots washed up on Cockle Cove on a weekday when I was on the beach with the wife and kids. It didn't get the press these whales are getting, probably because there were only 2 and there were not many people around - whales beached quite a ways from the parking lot.

We helped some "officials" (can't recall who) try to get those rascals back out to sea, but they wouldn't go. Finally we helped load them on a couple of flatbed trucks (believe it or not) using a couple of special rigs with openings for the flippers. They were transported to Woods Hole, observed, and released. We read about it in the Globe the next day. I have the pictures somewhere. The kids were very happy when they read about the release.

Editing the post making light of it before I knew they all died.
