Did anyone hear about the peta member at a bass tournament in Oregon...

A guy dressed as a trout was taking the bags of bass yet to be weighed and broke equiptment of the anglers.
He ended up with charges of property damage, disturbing the peace, a hefty fine and jail time.
It must be sad freakish existence to be a peta member, they just weren't opened to a world beyond their point of view as a child, or the lack of meat has gone to their heads.
By far the most important thing, as mentioned previously, is getting your kids involved in the outdoors and better yet friends' kids and neighbors who aren't exposed to fishing and hunting. I am sure if the peta member's parents took the kid fishing once in a while, this wouldn't even be an issue.

Last time I was up in Gaspe I watched this guy slapping mosquitoes! He must have killed hundreds of them! What a horrible site, made me sick!

Seriously though, Itís too bad we could not use these clowns. If their energy could be somehow directed against commercial over harvesting, some good could come out of the whole thing.

Send Peta tp Idaho

Couldn't get through all the dribble,,,,Bullsheeit (one word,,three sylables) Obviously, I got as far as "it may not be safe for them (PETA) in Idaho." Great idea. Lets figure out a way to get them to try and picket Idaho rivers. Especially in the Cor D' Lane area.

"3) Ask the Boy Scouts to Retire Their Fishing Merit Badge
By offering a "fishing" merit badge, the Boy Scouts of America teach boys that hooking, suffocating, and killing animals is acceptable. " OMG

Peta has got to be the most unamerican group to walk this earth. Fish are meant to be eaten, why else would they be here. No wait maybe we should eat nothing but vegies and greens so we can be anerexic salad shooters.

peta needs to stop being such weiners and get lives.

To some extent we're working for the same thing, which is habitat reclaimation, but how can you condemn fishing which generates alot of money back to the environment, with liscenses and stamps as well as private funding by avid outdoorsmen? It's thousands upon thousands more dollars than peta puts out.

awareness with action saves resources

Yes its me the aptly named troll. Ya know my rights as a sportsmen and outdoorsmen are important to me so much so that i tend to view the enviro-heads in our sport as loose canons that swing a little to far from the general good. Not to say that those of us that take conservation seriously are one step away from joining ther local chapter of green peace But in todays world you just cant tel whos with ya or against ya, and that makes me nervous! One day your disscusing catch and release the next there shoving it down your throat and making laws that make it mandatory. Im sure alot of fishermen out there can remember when those of us that love our sport did these things without having to be told. So i say watch out for these people. Keep one eye on your line and the other on your local goverment that can change your favorite sport into a story that starts " Remember when".

Uh, I believe that's called fisheries management. If you have a problem with that, then you just might be a wee bit short-sighted.

No one is shoving it (C&R) down your thoat. You will still have something to "bonk" if you desire to do so. There is a vast difference.

They just don't get it

"It's thousands upon thousands more dollars than peta puts out."

Why is it so difficult for "those people" to understand that were it not for our license fees, Dingle Johnson and all the other fees, taxes, etc, generated by sportsmen, there would be no money to support any of the wild life programs. NONE! That would leave the government desparate for funding. (so what else is new?) Which would mean that everyone, even the animal/bird watchers/photographers, rafters, swimmers, backpackers, would all have to pay a healthy fee just to enter the forest.

Of course, if I had my way, they would all have to pay the same as we do.
