North American Fishing Club

Anyone heard of this? Just got a mailer from them and it sounds tempting, but I always question unsolicited mail.

Comments? Good - bad - indifferent?

On a side note, I just hit 100 posts. YEAH!

Stone, my attitude towards that club is one of indifference. I was with it for a short while back in the early to mid 1990s. They try to promote trip swapping like we do here, but it's not as personal for obvious reasons. They also had a library of books that were sent on a monthly basis, and I had a pain getting them to stop sending the volumes to me. There were a few perks (reductions on certain tackle, boat insurance, etc.), but they weren't overwhelming.

If I remember correctly, they also have a sister club for hunting.

My two cents.

I wouldn't let my worst friend join that club. I was in it once. Wrote to them about fly fishing articles and got snubbed. So after one year I got out. To me it seems like a good old boys outfit. Crank baits and jusy warm water fishing.

Though considered, I arrived at the same conclusions as those above, before joining - guess I saved myself a lot of aggravation.
