Try the Terraserver instead

I too wanted to study some images and found MIT's image server down a few weeks ago, perhaps a serious hardware failure. I haven't had time to try the terraserver yet that Digital built for Microsoft using french Satellite data. I wouldn't try anything finer than 4 meter resolution either as the majority of data is not is not likely to be at 1 or 2 meters resolution. If someone get a chance to try it out let us know how your fishing spots look.

Have you tried Mapquest?

Mapquest has pretty good aerial photos of some areas. Coverage is spotty, particularly at higher zoom levels. One thing I like is that you can flip between the aerial photo and the map so you can tell what you're looking at.
