This mornings ad for Food Pavillion had this special. Wild fresh king salmon fillets $3.97 lb from Rogue river. No wonder Fred is having a hard time catching fish. Jerry
From what I've gleened from his posts, Fred is doing just fine.
Now I'm not too knowledgeable in respect to Oregon fish and game laws, but maybe those fish for sale represent his efforts to rebuild the bank account after his last equipment purchase (and before the missus returns and finds out).
I'm counting on her being so glad to see me again that I can get 'away' with new toys. After all, I could be spending the money at the local "men's club." Ah, but being the ever faithfull husband .... I'll just drop a few hundred on a new rod.
Interesting add though; wonder if these are commercially caught fish (open ocean) or are the hatchery guys selling over supply? As of 6-2-2002 (last count posted) they already had over 22,000 Kings through the counter and into the top 30 miles of river. As this is the 18th, one can assume there are a hell of a lot more than that.
Actually, at $3.97# it would be cheaper to go buy the darn things. :whoa:
