Friday the fishing was good in the morning. The spanish macs were eating both flies and sting silvers. The fellows trolling weren't doing to bad either.. Sat the bite was off the fishing slowed. Picked up a # of gray trout and blues and a nice 5 pound sheepshead.. Sunday the fishing picked back up, started w/ the spanish. The fish were eating!!! Another boat was casting gotcha's and we were tossing sting silvers / grubs and flies. Fish skying out of the air all around the boat, they were eating very small glass minnows. Small white clousers were working the best.

Started looking for a bluefish and found blacktips sharks.. Then the big blues showed, they were being picky!!! Refusals on artificials was common. Live shad would have been the ticket.. Smaller blues started to show and the bite was on!!! 2 to 4 pound fish balled up in a large school. Triples were common!!!

Monday morning the spanish bite was on again! Most boats were catching their limits. Saw 2 cobia swim by the boat couldn't get a shot on them.. A friend last night called w/ a hot report on the spanish. First fish was 9 pounds!! That's a very large spanish mac and will make quite the marlin bait.

Water temp 73-74 a mile off beaufort bar.
