Salmonid Habitat Enhancement Workshop
any of you planning on a trip to the west of Ireland in September might be interested in this workshop.
13th International Salmonid Habitat Enhancement Workshop
To be held in Westport, Co. Mayo, Ireland
September 16th - 19th, 2002
Over 20 fishery biologists from North America, Europe, Britain and Ireland will make presentations on some of the many bankside and instream work programmes which have contributed to the restoration of salmonid stocks worldwide.
Chalkstreams, steelhead streams, American brooks as well as salmon spawning habitat are all discussed.
for more information. All the abstracts are online.
PS fishing is going well here at the moment. Plenty of action all over the country. Mayfly showed up on sunday in Lough Corrib - very early for them but the fishermen didn't complain. Despite the strong winds many went out to make the most of it and had good catches.
I hope to get a few days this weekend (May Bank Holiday Weekend - no work on Monday). Will be going to Lough Derg on the Shannon System. Wish me luck..
No angler, no matter how good, can catch a fish everytime, but then no fish, no matter how cunning, can resist a fly everytime...
