Chatham- 4/27

Drove down last night with both of my boys and started painting the floors of my two back rooms. Had to do mostly work around the place but took a lunch break down at Red River Beach in Harwich and watched bait fishermen haul in some nice stripers ...big ones. Spoke to one guy who had one about 30 inches and saw another guy haul in a bigger one.. there was constant action for the bait schollies... these looked like summer fish. You might think I would have been anxious to get my fly rod but with the south east wind pumping it would have been hard... Lots of bird activity and they were picking off little juvies on the catch side of the stone jetties. I get home and start working... My son who has his license takes my 15 year old for a dump trip.... they come back in 5 minutes...park the car way up in the drive way and march into the house not saying a word... I ask why they parked the car basically out of site of the road... then two police cars show up.. my oldest let my yougest drive around the neighborhood and knocked a fence down... Youngest has to go to court... great day and great to have teenagers.... anyway ,I had to take off and calm down and relax my vocal cords. Drove down to Bridge Street on the early outgoing and pick up 6 twinkies in about an hour. Used my 7 wt with small silversides... Sorry ,I could not stop in and see Penguin, but did run into Keith and Porky Lincoln at a filling station in town. They had one boat in tow and were going to start the South Beach and Monomoy trips this week. I thouht I would also attatch a picture of my Bonefish display right under a Tarpon fishing painting.... Next week end will be down longer.

It's great to see the first report from the Prez of the CAC. I've been looking forward to it all winter. It sounds like things are starting a beginning to take off. Summer fish this early? What might they be like come summer?:eyecrazy:

Sorry to hear about the "fencing". I can only imagine what the teen years will be like when my two come of age.

The display looks fantastic.

I had a seat reserved on Keith's low RPM run to break in the new engine on the skiff this year. My plan was to be the first to scope out the winter's effect on South Beach backside up at the hook looking north etc, but family obligations, continuing server upgrade efforts and the jungle cock shipment kept me home instead. My priorities will flip when the "big girls" arrive.

Keith is ready to go for the 2002 season, weather being the only thing slowing things down lately. Next warm weekend should get things in full gear... and you know I'm looking forward to it!!!

Sounds like a fun filled weekend!

The first thing I thought of was the things my brother & I used to get into as Teenagers. Life is one big learning experience, for your Kids & Yourself!!

Sorry to hear about the negative trun on your weekend. Reminds of the stupid things I did as a kid, one in particular involving me & and an old Plymouth station wagon (1968) with a 383 in it - I'll reserve for the CAC.

Your story did bring a smile to my day in the office though...

Boys will be boys. Glad to hear about the twinkies. I was able to ge out Sat and got two nice fish ,first of the season. The bigger fish was a bright sealice covered 24" beauty. As Roop says you got to love Clousers.

Aren't those teenage boy fun. We had our own "crisis" with the sixteen year old this weekend also. I always said if my kids were half as wild as I was I'd be getting off easy- so far so good. I went out and trolled a fly in a snow storm yesterday to decompress. I empathise with ya man.
