Chatham Light Today-Photo's

Drove down to Chatham this morning and opened up my place. Drove down through town and stopped at the bookstores and got a Murder Mystery about a body found floating around Monomoy Island... could be fun to read... Anyway took some photo's but early outgoing tide and foggy... so came back later with no fog and lower tide.. There are some big changes but it was not as dramatic as I had seen over the years.. I was at a distance and studied it carefully but I think if I had more time I would have walked it.... Looks good.... new holes to explore and I am wondering what south beach further down looks like... Also, I have to post the pictures in separate posts since I don't know how to include all the photo's in one post... Put in one from CAC to show you where I put last years gift over the fireplace. Wait I think I see where to includ other photo's

That shoal is insane! No way that's going to last, coming back against the currents of the big moon tides in June will do them in.

Nice job w/ the fez shot!

BTW - for those beyond the northeastern US, the Chatham Anglers Club, or CAC, is a name I dubbed to John's cottage on Cape Cod. Almost the minute I walked in the door the words popped from my mouth. John liked it, and well the name stuck, and soon we were all convening in some serious BS and flytying sessions at the CAC. John's hospitality and taste for decor to stimulate the Marlin Perkins (or his assistant Jim) in any angler did not go unappreciated - we awarded John a rosewood plaque with gold inlay reading "Chatham Angler's Club" last year. Jeff Roop had it made and we lucky anglers who had sought refuge at CAC ante'd up to have it made custom.

The fez was an offering from our former USAF Pete Gray aka. Penguin, who bought that fez where they wear them in all seriousness on his tour in Desert Storm.

Here's another image:

I hope that shoal lasts. Looks like it will be fun trying to figure out where the fish will be. Great pics John. I can't wait for summer. I mean spring. Now, about that Fez.......:hehe:

Likewise Jimmy - nice job John, thats really got the juices flowing!

New holes and looks like new sight fishing opps too? Interesting that there should be such a build up - is this the result of a storm free winter? Can't wait to get back up there.

Great Fez but it does look like it used to belong to a shriner. :hehe:

Great pics John. What was your take on the end of Nauset? Seemed to me like a pretty large buildup on the inside.
