Did my first real paddling trip yesterday with Wes (JImW). We headed across the lower Houstonic estuary to Nells Island which is a huge expanse of saltmarsh interleaved with channels. Fascinating area and one for more detailed exploration as the season progresses. The boat behaved and I managed to stay upright. Couldn't find anywhere suitable to wade fish so I had a few chucks from the boat. Jim managed to pick up a couple on spinner. The paddle back across the Housy which was now at max ebb was a real work-out - glad I quit smoking! Looking forward to the next trip!
When sight fishing, look over your shoulder from time to time, you never know who's behind you
