Awesome Flies!!

Recieved flies today and they look great!!! Thanks to all who particapted and major big thanks to Jerry for putting forth all the time and effort involved in being a swapmeister!!!

Just one question...the flies werent labeled so it would be great if we could get together a list of whose flies are whose.

I've got here, two beautiful tied tube flies. One is black marabou with a blue hackle (Doublespey's I am assuming), another tube has got a pinkish orangish chenille body, burnt orange grizzly hackle and what looks to be orange squireal tail.

I've also got a chartreuse/black marabout winged fly tied on nickel AJ hook.

A fly with a very long black tail which looks to be a synthetic with pink floss wrapped over purple rabbit...very cool idea!!

A small fly that looks like a Brindle Bug. Look like a killer mid-summer Stilly/Upper Sky pattern.

A very nicely tied Silver Hilton.

A beautiful little pattern with a blue dubbed body, orange fluss with silver tinself butt, bronze mallard (?) hackle with a golden pheasent wing.

The rest I think I know...Juro's Sandbug, Fred's fly, and five of Jerry's...??

Again, thanks for all the great flies!!!!!

Man, and I'm stuck here at work until Friday while the flies will be sitting at my house! Ryan, the one that looks like a Brindle Bug is a Brindle Bug. It was either that or a Silver Hilton as those are the killer flies here on the Klamath. Since someone else sent the Hilton it worked out ok!

Ryan -

You might recall from the last swap that the custom with Forum fly swaps is that the meister scans or photographs the flies, the images are emailed to the tyer, who posts the image with the recipe in their own words.

Thanks again to steelheader69! (can't wait to check my mail)

These flies are great!!! I'm very stoked to go fishing but my inconsiderate wife is showing signs of going into labor.

Jerry, thanks for putting this together. I find it very interesting to see what others come up with and use.

Well they were here when I got home from work.

Some great flies here and new patterns to tie.

I wonder how many different steelhead patterns there are in the universe?

No speys or steelhead nymphs in this bunch will have to tie some of those for the summer steelhead swap.

Andre thats an interesting fly, is suppose to be a GP type shrimp imitation. Quite cool.

Lots of great flies, will give those tubes a go for sure have the material to start doing tubes. Got me motivated seeing these.

Hal

There are some beautiful flies here! Eugene, I love the blue charm/silver doctor fly. Rob, your silver hilton is very nice too. They're all nice! Who tied the articulating rabbit on the waddington shank? Who tied the shrimpy looking fly with the two orange chenile antenae coming out the back? I'm getting some ideas, gotta go tie.
GBSkunk

Sorry I forgot to glue the heads on my black and blue marabou tube.

No mail today... Sunday... But My oldest son shows me a package that came yesterday... I grab it form his hands and say ."yesterday?" He says.." and in a bown envelope, Too" ... wiseguy... So, I run up the stairs taking two steps at a time and go were a grown up can get total privacy... the bathroom.. I tear it open and start looking at spectacular flies... with a little saliva dripping from the corners of my month. My daughter knocks on the door and say ,"Dad, I have to use the bathroom"... I say," go away and leave me alone.. I'm busy". She says,, "dad, come on ,your acting weird"... I say..."Use the one down stairs... or your grounded".. What great flies.. guys... I know this may sound just as weird but I will not use them and put them in a small display case at CAC so when any of you guys ever show up in Chatham you will feeel at home... thanks again.

The bath room is a good place to review newly received fly swap flies. Used that myself on Thursday when they arrived.

Some nice flies yes, you should see the Atlantic Salmon flies just as nice.

Are you ready to become steelhead addicted ? Juro will show you the way. :hehe: :hehe:

Cool

Just got home today after working 3 days of overtime and checked out the flies. What cool looking flies! Pretty wild for this neck of the woods. Most of the flies used here are things like silver hiltons, bitch creek nymphs, etc. Those tube flies are REALLY great. Gonna have to learn how to tie those suckers. I too am gonna make a shadow box and hang them on the wall!

I too display the flies rather then fish them.

I treasure the flies that are given to me by fellow fisherman and rarely fish them...

I have my flies from last year's swap sitting above my computer and have this year's still sitting in a Wheatley waiting for a proper resting place.

Thanks again...
