Finding that perfect shade of bucktail or saddle hackle won't be hard, if you attend Tuesday's meeting. Ron Montecalvo will do a demonstration on dying techniques. You will learn how to custom blend any shade or color. You can bring in any material. Just make sure it is clean of any fat or oil. Heck!, bring in them ole T-shirts. We can tye-dye them too.

That's mighty tempting... skip out a little early from the office, head south and stop at Wes' for a little barb-Q and a fresh brew; stop in for a little fly chatter and learn a thing or two about how they avoid raising different colored chickens!

I'll see if I can pull that one off. Might be tough though, I have relatives flyin' to town for the holidays.

RE:Rhody Fly Rodders Monthly Meeting

Al D, Juro, and all -

Next months January 16th meeting at Rhody Fly Rodders will have a slide show by Cast a Fly Charters. Sorry there won't be any Big Gurl shots of Chatham, but with my off beat sense of humor, I'll dream something up.

Dr. Dave Ross said that if the weather is right, he will attend. There will be some slides of his trip on deck. If he does attend, I'm sure he'll have copies of his new book "The Fisherman's Ocean."

Don't forget the Fly Fishing Forum Raffle. Everything is up and running to speed now. Juro has done a wonderful job colating the items. If you want to know more about Cast a Fly Charters for the raffle, we will also be giving a slide show presentation at Crossroads Anglers December 26th.

Thanks for your interest. Make sure you check out all the other great raffle donations by clicking on the Auction Page.

Monthly meeting of the Rhody Fly Rodders will take place Tuesday, February 20th. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Formal meeting starts at 7:30.

Are you tired of watching reruns on TV? If so, here's an opportunity to get yourself out of the house. Alan Caolo will be our host for the night of entertainment, fun, and learning more about our favorite species, the striped bass. Alan's expertise includes a vast array of fishing experience from inshore to offshore. He's a local resident of the Westerly who guides and fishes the Watch Hill area. He has written two books to his credit, Fly Fisherman's Guide to Atlantic Baitfish and a soon to be release book titled Sight Fishing for Striped Bass. Is that 20-20 hindsight or what?

Don't know what the regulations and fishing limits are for this season, than your in luck? Rhody's guest speaker will be Mark Gibson from the Rhode Island Dept. of Environmental Management. He will answer changes in fish quotas, species, lengths and limits. He'll answer any questions regarding the state of our stock programs. The trout season in RI starts the second Saturday in April for all those law abiding citizens.
