Bonefish flies

Sorry, I should have posted my start of the 150 flies from Dick Browns book on this forum....I mistakenly put it in the immediate preceeding forum. I hope to photo and add to this Archive.

Sean... just finished my 30th... Just doing one of each...leaving the difficult crab patterns for last...Interesting placing the original Crazy "nasty" Charley next to the later more popular Crazy Charley popularized by Orvis for years. The original had Silver flashabou for a tail and body with 15 pound mono for body wrap and two white hackle feathers for wings... the later version was tied with Pearl flashabou and body with V-rib and white Calfs tail for the wings. Also the chain eyes with the original was tied in right up to the eye while the later version was tied a bit back to make room for the calfs hair. When I get my digital camera I will post all with recipes to give the forum a good basis for these flies in this thread.

Adrian.. thanks..I would like to see it... I am up to 35 flies and I had to skip a few of the crab patterns and a couple other for the first go around since I did not have ALL the original materials...but I will double back to complete them. No improvising here... I am doing them according to the exact recipies.

Well... just a report for those who doubted.. but I just completed my 75th fly.. Half done now...skipped about 10 in order... since I did not have the material.. Will go back and complete them when I have the exact material...But all patterns are tyed according to directions with some substitutes.. Stopped putting in the weed guards since I am doing this for a case display .

John,

Did you do any Borski's sliders? If so what body material did you go with. I flipped through the book (Dick Browns) yesterday but didn't spring the shop rate for it. I think I can get a better deal on-line price wise.

Do you have any pictures to post?

Sean.. did an Epoxy shrimp and a Deer hair Critter which is a slider I think. I used the exact material in both recipies. I don't have a camara yet.. next week I am going to get one and will post ALL of them with names.. Will not post recipes unless by e-mail.. I really would like to get a detailed Bonefish Fly site with all 150 of them.. Also,I have to get some material and had to skip some flies until I get the material... like Zelon. I also did make some alterations.. for example I did not "paint" any eyes.. just used the prepainted ones.. things like that.. for some hot glue recipies I just used 5 min epoxy.
