RI boat ramps

Here's a nice RI boat ramp site for both sweet and salt water.

Hawkeye

FYI - There's a few saltwater ramps that are no longer operative. Mount Hope Fishing area doesn't have any water. A sand bar blocks access. The Sandy Point ramp is used as a beach for home owners in the area and is completely covered with sand.

Has anyone used that Westerly ramp, and if so, how is it for loading and parking?

Bob,

No trips planned. Probably nothing more this year except for a possible cod run. They are in about 30' of water so it just might be possible to do it on a fly with minimal drift.

Gregg, you'll be having the Scituate sharpies scratchin their heads if you start going out cod fishing with a flyrod. That hard bottom between 4th cliff and Farnham's ledge would be just the place to give it a try.... hmmmm.

As of two weeks ago there was still a very nice push of bass filtering down that way as well--I think the coastal huggers heading south all seem to make a pitstop at the NOrth River mouth to refuel--it's hit or miss but worth a look if you're in the area.
