Calling all fly-swap participants

All the flies have been photgraphed, sorted, bagged and boxed to ship out as of 22:00hrs tonight. BUT! Before I make the trip to the post office I need a couple of mailing addresses....

The following please let me know where your package should be mailed to. (By the way the boxes will all say <font size="4"><b>"RUSH, Emergency VIAGRA shipment, RUSH!"</font><!--4--></b> on the outside, ya' can't miss 'em)
e.mail the address info to <a href="mailto:bpink@concentric.net">Bob Pink </a><!--url-->

Tod Dillon
grego
Matt Boutet
J.Morin
JeffG
Roop (I can drop yours at Networks + sometime if you will be around.)

Everyone else is cool.

Thanks to those who took the time to include the tying instructions with each fly. For the board archives Juro is putting together a page with the digital image of the fly you submitted ( for those who chose to drive me crazy by sending in 6 different flies, I tried to pick one or two that would be interesting ). He'll e.mail you with the hyperlink to that image so you can add your tying instructions directly with the image and we'll build on the archive of fly patterns. Thanks also to those who added an extra for the meister, always appreciated.

The spring clock is ticking....

LOL!

Deepest appreciation for your efforts Bob. For anyone who forgot to include an extra for the meister, let's make sure we save a fresh 'secret fly' in our boxes for the next time we meet Bob on the water.

I'll try to get the first batch of Bob's fine photography emailed to you tonight. Post the corresponding recipes in the <!--http--><a href="http://flyfishingforum.com/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl?Action=ShowBoard&Board=coastal_fly" target="_blank">Striper Fly Archive</a><!--url--> where we can enjoy them and ask questions, etc.

Thanks Bob, I'll just pick mine up at your office some day during lunch, no need to waste the $ on postage.

RE:Calling all fly-swap participants

Unfortunately my primitive computer and even worse computer skills (or lack there of)...I can't access anything under "edit"....which keys can this idiot use? "Control something" to cut..."control another thingy" to paste??? HELP!!!

RE:Calling all fly-swap participants

Whoops... sorry I should have been more clear:

There is a line of text in that email between the ones that look like:

---- start ---- / ---- end ----

You want to copy the text in the middle into memory, then paste it into a message within the Striper Fly archives.

Step #1: Start a new message in the Striper Fly Archive

Step #2: Go to your email inbox and open that email message

Step #3: Copy that line of text into memory -

Highlight that line of text by clicking on the start of the text
with the left mouse button, holding it down, and sweeping to the end of the text. Let go of the button - the text should stay highlighted in a dark band.

Then, while holding the mouse cursor / arrow / pointer within the dark highlighted area, click the right mouse button. A menu will pop-up... select "copy".

The text is now stored in memory.

Then, go to the FlyTalk window. Click in the main message area. Click the right mouse button... select "paste".

Then type in the recipe below that line of text and the image will be placed in the thread for you.

If you want to see how it will look, use [preview] first.

Let me know if it works,
Juro

I am not a fly tyer, but I am willing to swap a fishing trip in return for an assortment of sand eel patterns of varied color and size.

RE:Calling all fly-swap participants

WOW! That's a heck of an offer, you could get a flybox full from me for that kinda fly swap! As well as you know those rips on the elbow of the Cape (your "backyard") we could put those sand eels to very good use. I hope we get a repeat of last year out there Bruce.

Hmmm... anyone want to pitch in a handful of sand eel flies with me to get a respectable collection together?

RE:Calling all fly-swap participants

I've been working on my Bob Popovic's "Jiggey" style sandeels. I'm getting pretty good! I could whip out of box of Jiggey's mixed with more tradition stuff!

BTW: If you've never seen Bob P. Tie, do it at the Wilmington Show, you wont regret it!

RE:Calling all fly-swap participants

Bruce, I was late on the draw too. I would be open if you wanted to do a third swap. I am going to be in tying mode over the next 3-4 weeks.
Tight lines,
Dave

RE:Calling all fly-swap participants

Bruce -

What you offer to people is more than a fish - you teach people how. That's what we should collectively do for you to earn this ride on the rips. They make a nice starter kit with vice, tools, and an instructional book. The Forum will donate one to this cause. The spring clave would be a great opportunity to get you as enthusiastic about fly-tying as John Morin by the time the season gets underway. John started tying this winter and has just reached the milestone of 54,890,321 flies. The federal government has him under surveilance for rare bird skin shipments from Indonesia, and Dupont has awarded him a healthy chunk of shares for his contributions to forth quarter revenues in the purchase of ultrahair.

Seriously, it will be our pleasure to show you how to twist 'em up if you're interested. Those who offer their instruction and time deserve the ride with you. I'd be happy to show you my sand eel favorites, but will stay out of the running this time to keep my seat open for others.

Nice facility to do this kind of stuff too... the anchorage I mean. Can't wait!
