At the time the Matunuck Beach Cam shows a very fishable surf! The wind is NW and hasn't gotten viscious yet. They say this afternoon will be up to 35 kts though, and tomorrow is downright snotty.

Good luck Quentin, hope you see green.

Juro

RE:Red Eye to Rhody 10/28

Shoulda stayed home! (or tried somewhere else) No fish for me. Big waves from the south, big wind from the north, some bait around, not much bird activity and no breaking fish. I started at Watch Hill before sunrise. Tide was up and still rising (9:40 high), wind not too bad out of the north. Took a few casts around the harbor and out near the jetty by the channel markers, then took a walk over the dune to see if the surf was a high as it sounded. It was. I made a few casts into the breakers and then decided to go back over the dune and fish the north side before the wind got too strong. I fished my way out as far as a point near an inlet. The area near the point looked promising so I stayed for a while, but nothing showed while I was there. Fished my way back towards the harbor and tried the jetty again just as the water was starting to wash over the top. The wind was building constantly and was blasting pretty good by the time I got back. I left just as the parking lot was beginning to flood. Checked out Weekapaug Breachway, Quonny breachway and the beach to the east, made a brief stop at Charlestown Breachway, then went back to Weekapaug and saw a guy on the east jetty with a blue he had just caught. Watched the waves for while and called it a day.
