Alternating Color Backing

Orvis has come out with a backing that alternates color every 25 yards. It is made of "Dyneema®". Does anyone know what this material is? It comes in 35lb. and 50lb. test. I have steered away from "gel-spun" backing, but now that I am using spey lines that seem to eat up a reel's backing capacity, I thought I might give this a try. It is, however, very pricey ($55 for 300 yards of 50lb.) when compared to good old Micron, so I thought I would ask before I bought.

Dyneema is GSP and is the trademark name owned by the Dutch company that invented GSP. All GSP is made under license from this Dutch firm.

If you decide to use GSP, you might benefit from Geoff Wilson's knot book on "superbraid" as the Aussies and others call gel spun polyethylene. For example a bimini twist requires 40 initial turns [memory?] vs. 20 with Dacron. The arbor knot Wilson recommends for GSP is not what you see in non-GSP specific knot books.
