Chums in yet?

I have to admit I really loved the break between summer runs and winter runs thanks to a brawling badass fish - the chum salmon.

Not pretty but wow, great sport!

Hood Canal...

Saw a lot of activity at Hood Canal Bridge a dozen Bow Pickers working and a handful of Seiners anchored up waiting there turn. So in that regard there are fish around. Jerry and I saw several more Seiners from the downtown ferry Tuesday on our way to the Fly Club meeting at the Steelhead Diner.
On a similar topic the gear guys that are good at such things were reporting 20 fish a day per boat on the Bogey... and they weren't fishing Chums!
Things look promising here....

I am potentially on a good-sized project in Seattle starting February... should put me right in the zone for winter run. FINGERS CROSSED

Friend of mine went over to the Miami last week and reported slow fishing.

I, too, love these fish. Really fun catching them on the flats at Kodiak during the summer.

Cheers,

Your Chum in Waldport
