Has anyone used on of Scott Howell's Squidro Steelhead flies yet? I painted one and posted a review...looking for users of the fly.

Please observe your membership agreement on direct commercial hyperlinks. I have replaced the links with the image ONLY.

Obligatory comment - they appear to be near exact copies of my freind Ed Ward's "Intruder" pattern, but with a couple of changes like rubber legs instead of hackle.

They are interesting flies. I doubt I will take the time to tie any and I am not going to buy any. I will stick to the more traditional style patterns. I have tried some flies similar to these and honestly I don't see any better catch rates. I still believe steelhead fishing is more about how the fly is fished than what the fly is.
