Thanks Jon for clarifying my poorly written question. I was referring to the sandeel flies (not the ones with the hook up) that are tied with the hook at an approximate 37.657 degree downward angle to the material
Hope that does it.

Phatefully yours,
Ron
PS: Pete...if you measure the angle, please let me know how far off I was

the lines are your phriends... stay within the lines... NOT!

Ron...
re: "offset"... 'because I like the risque European stying and my tying is, for lack of a better explanation, a recipe-phree work in progress...
re: "offset angle"... your calculations are C.E.F.G.W. [close enough for government work]...
VTloon...
re: "CANARDS"... YIKES!... 'been there... 'done that... DON'T ever want to go back!

'Put a real wing on a phly and it gets a mind of it's own and casts like a kite!
Not to mention the snap aerilon rolls in the water... Mr. Line Twister at your service...
Who would'a thunk?!

C _ _ P !!!!! "close enough for government work"....I hate being told that I was way off

Must admit that the squid fly is unique.......looks like it would have worked............but one never knows till tried.

Have you considered using a flexible material for the "flaps" (sorry for the technical lingo)........am sure you must have some sort of flexible pheather or other material intended for other uses, that is probably somewhere in your kitchen

Do I hear colored (magic markers) cellophane?

Don't blame me if now you can't go to sleep thinking of alternatives
Ron

Pete – true artistry… and the real critics succumbed to your canvas. Might we crown you Michelangelo?
