98 mph fastball

7 more days and I can kill some of the time I would have normally spent fishing watching baseball again.

Wonder if the Mariners will field a team capable of .500 ball this year?

I also look forward to seeing if Felix can repeat his Sy Young performance of last year.

I have a couple of friends who went down to Mariners spring training last month. Maybe they'll have some encouraging comments. I'll find out.

Watched Bedard pitch last night. He looked pretty darn good. If he gets back to where he was a couple of years ago and stays healthy the Ms will have a pretty decent right left combo with him and Felix.

I have not seen or heard a single spring game this year. Not sure why, just not listening in yet. odd for me.

But have been reading a lot of preview stuff.

I get the sense that we are sort of on track for a repeat of 2010. The major difference I see is that we aren't expecting magic like we were last year.

Pitching looks pretty darn good again this year. I'm not getting any sense that we have much better ability to score & our ability last year was reprehensible.

Even so, I hope the stats that earn Felix the Cy Young this year are about like last year just with a lot more W's and fewer L's.

Looks like they have the pitching for sure, and that hitting roster is pretty damn good but they need to fire on all those pistons and get it rolling. I hope they picked up a new hitting coach

It's only April and they're already eliminated from the playoffs.

Funny, and its only the home opener in April. I will still watch inspite of the dismal start.

Last night's game was a tough one. Nice way to honor Dave; a blow out loss. He seen to many while broadcasting the games.
