Acklins Annual - SIGN UP SHEET

In response to people's request for an annual visit to Felton's and based on tides and time to organize I suggest last week in March 26- Apr2.

Please respond ONLY if you can make this trip. I am waiting for response from Felton with Forum pricing, look at his past posts for an idea of the rate.

We will fly to Nassau and meet at Orange Hill then get on the am flight to Acklins via local flight. I will arrange for Felton to meet us at the airport and we will have vehicles to get around.

I know the island well and hope veterans join in but there are guide services available for those who wish to use that option.

RESPONSE:

Indicate Package (1) Salinas Lodge (2) cottage rental or (3) either

Salinas is the "Taj Mahal" with luxurious accommodations max 2 per room and excellent food provided. Cottage is cheaper but everything is DIY including the food. 8 people max but 6 is better so no one ends up on the couch (I'll take the couch np). Either means you are willing to go either route.

If we can get a reasonable quorum this will happen.

- Juro

Update - I have three PMs on this but only one in the suggested date range. I will suggest alternates based on the dates received if I get a few more otherwise will start planning another trip - probably to Puerto Rico.

I'm only available to do March 19-26. I'm already in Andros the 12-19 and I'm already looking to book another week somewhere, so if you do the 19-26 I'll definitely be in.

I'm OK for a Wednesday to Wednesday slot anytime in mid to late March. Weekend air fares to Nassau from my location are prohibitively costly.

I Just checked air fares from my location and weekend flights are double the cost of mid week flights. If you can somehow swing a Wednesday to Wednesday March 23 to Mar 30 we have four people including GMflyfish for the duplex @ Delectable Bay .

Keep in mind that theres also the Pineapple Air option of either flying in on a Monday or Friday. I used them last Nov, slightly more than Bahamas Air.

I'll work on it.

Don't hesitate to find another party better yet an Acklins veteran to fill out the group go for it, I hear the roads are largely repaired - they were in process last year.

Finding flats is about is easy as it gets... they are alongside the road

I'll post once I can figure out what my schedule will be.

Was amazed to see the price diff. between weekend and midweek travel for you guys travelling out of Canada and the midwest. If it were me and I had the time I would travel midweek and spend a couple of xtra days in Nassau.

Orange Hill is about $140 a night, divided by the group it would still save you quite abit.

A mid week flight to Nassau is $420. compared to $998. for weekend . I know about supply and demand and all but in my opinion this is just plain simple robbery !
If this does'nt make one belive in airline price regulations nothing will.
