Mexico information

Hey All,

My family and I are looking at a trip to Mexico this year, as opposed to our usual trip to Cuba. I have spent several years learning about Cuba fishing, especially in the Cayo Coco area, but my wife is getting weary of that area and would like to try something new. Hence, Mexico. We are looking at a couple of resorts in the Mayan Riviera (Tulum) area and I have been in contact with the manager of the Ascension Bay Bonefish Club, regarding day trips.

I will only be able to go one or two days, on day trips, as this is first and foremost a family vacation.

I am wondering if you have any experience in that area, and can recommend a guide, other than ABBC.

I have done a search on this board, but have not been able to get information specific to this area.

Any help would be appreciated. If you wish you can PM or e-mail me.

Thanks,
Lewis

Thanks Pete,

I did search for Punta Allen, got some names of guides, but am hoping someone on this board has some first hand experience there and give me some names of some guides. Also, is there any DIY in that area?

Lewis

I did a day trip to Ascencion Bay several years ago and of the 6 people in our group only a few of caught bonefish and it was not many and they were small. Saw1 permit but could not get a cast off. Take the info for what it is worth. It is beautiful country.
