Exclamation Seals with lobster trap net nooses

Guys - over the years we've seen many seals dying a slow death with nylon mesh nooses on their necks, hides worn raw and bleeding. If you happen to have any photos of this please let me know - thanks

No doubt this thought would be vigorously opposed in the lobster fishing community, but wasn't our environment better off when lobster men were using biodegradable wooden traps with non-synthetic netting. There must be a huge and growing volume of non-degradable ghost traps littering the ocean floor.

It goes along with birds stuck in six pack carriers, illegal drift nets cut loose at sea and killing interminably, chemicals and antibiotics in the waste stream and causing reproductive damage to fish, it just goes on and on, and as Pogo famously said " We have met the enemy and he is us." The horror of it is that we are getting worse despite the efforts of those who understand and care, all in the name of economic necessity.
