Tarpon!

Video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcJ6UQPcf1c

The dark spot is a bait ball. You can see tarpon between me and the bait ball.

Look at them!

Talking about backs and tails!

Going for it.

Fish on - but threw the fly.

Got one! Luckily, Nancy had her camera in video mode while I landed the fish.

Accidentally just happen to be in the right spot at the right time or does this happen frequently? Tarpon trip anyone? Beautiful water!

great pictures! Gets my blood pumping just seeing them.

I agree with Pete--I would personally not hold a fish in that manner, nor let it roll around in the dry sand--it can't be good for them.

Sorry about the slow reply - Hurricane Earl visited us at category 4. Island is doing reasonbly well, but lots of damage. Storm pics at http://bvipirate.com/Earl

Tarpon are here year-round, but best June through November when the fry is thick in the water.

Great shot's

Great photo's, Once in a lifetime pictures. I'm living and loving on the Caribbean side of Panama next to the Sixolas river. We have a stained water fishery but even blind casting we my hook ten to fifteen fish a day. I wish the water was like yours, great report.

Walker - our sincere wishes for a quick recovery to your beautiful island. Hope to come visit you soon.

Budman - is this a year-round fishery and what sizes are you generally hooking? I like 40-60# best.
