17- 20 July Foray

Jim Miller & I are planning a return match with the BFT population. Sat 17th & Sun 18th we'll be doing the boat thing. Logistics are not set yet, but will probably stay in Chatham area. Squire stops are a definite possibility.

I plan to stay over and fish flats Monday and 1/2 Tuesday; wondering who else might be out. Those of you who have to work, I (and my SS check) understand.

Hope you guys can find some 'right size" ones. I had them up all around me for a couple of hours yesterday mixed right in with the bass. Unfortunately, they were way too big for my taste. Might be doable if you have a legit offshore setup and harness...

Eat your wheaties!

We fished outside on Sat and in the Bay on Sun. In both spots the Tuna seemed to have a severe ADHD problem. They would show in ones, twos and once in a while small pods. They would never stay up...never settle down. They were almost always gone before you could get to them. I think whatever bait they were on must have been scattered, fast, and yo-yoing up and deep. Only a few shots and no sushi.

Monday morning, Striblue and I fished the beach at the light: beautiful morning, but tide not down enough so no fish.

Bottom line is the water is too damn hot. Guys are getting bass at the race on wire and jigs. That tells me the fish are deep . Perhaps North would be ok. FishHawk
