All of you who found the time can certainly be proud. It's a true "think globally - act locally" event.

Have finally recovered from the hike back from the fishing spot to the refuge parking lot and the festivities at The Squire afterwards.....actually, the damage consisted mainly of a very sore left calf and a bit of a sunburn on select areas of my lower legs where I must have missed with the sunblock (so much for Keith's labelling me the "Ghost of Monomoy" for my complete lack of color after hours in the sun). A fun time was had by all, including the "brave few" (quoting a distant cousin of Adrian, no doubt) amongst the FFF crew. The "in your face" wind made attempts a fly casting an exercise in futility, so it's a good thing we all brought a couple (or more) spin cast rods for the bigs and littles to thrash the water with. They hit a marauding school of snapper blues at the start of the incoming, and the "Arlington Kid" in the blue T shirt managed to hook up on three of them (one hooked squarely in the TOP of the head, that was rather sporting for me to unhook/release) before the bite died as quickly as it had begun. Looking forward to next year's- I seem to acquire another cheap spin cast outfit every year just to try to keep up with the demand- maybe enough of the rest of the crew will join us next year so that won't be necessary, and the wind will die down enough so that my fly rods will have a chance to show off a little.
Cheers!
