Hello from a newbie Brit

Hi all,

Thought I’d best introduce myself, im Paul Jennings more commonly known as PJ

I’ll be part of the 2010 spring Brit invasion and I’ll be arriving with my Brother- in –law Des on May 26th till June 7th.

I’m following in the footsteps of some of my friends and fellow members of the UK Bass society, Mike Oliver, Steve Binckes (Steveo) Al Hughes, Rupe, Silas and many more.
I’ve been lucky enough to be able to benefit from their previous experiences and am picking their brains on a daily basis- just been on the phone to Mike for at least an hour. Steve O is also doing a good job of preparing me to catch my first Striper and Blue fish

I’m totally pumped up and excited about getting over there; I hope to be able to meet some of you

All the best

PJ

PJ, I should be around in that time frame, and would be glad to show you around. Anyone else from the UK planning to be on the Cape? Last year was pretty good in May/June.

Hi Paul,

Glad you joined this community. Really pleased that I managed to enthuse you so much to make the visit to Cape Cod this coming spring. You do have some great tides from the 25th May for a few days at least. But then it is decisions, decisions, about where to go.

I can confirm my group of 6 is arriving on the Friday 21st May and we depart on June the 6th. We will be house based ( if I can find a suitable rental house) but I intend to seperate from my group to do my own thing for about 6 or 7 days. So I will be travelling and using Motels on the way.

I will be setting up a USA cell phone I think it;s called Net 10 as Uk mobiles cost an arm and a leg to use in the States. We should be able to meet up at some time.
I missed out on the Cape last year because of financial problems but I have managed to bounce back and like yourself am very keyed up. The changes to the beach structures sound pretty amazing and I am looking forward to seeing what does happen when we get there.

If you need flies let me know as I start tying soon for the trip.

Mike

Rupe hi,

Looks like a pretty sustained Brit invasion this year. I hope Silas's' bad luck does not rub off on you after his infamous 8 consective blanks (skunks). If you make it from the 18th then will most probably see you in Squires hopefully soberish. LOL How long are you coming for. Some good bargains right now on flights.

Mike

Welcome PJ....we too are looking forward for the season to begin. The Cape is a magnificient environment to see....fish or no fish. Many places to fish and you will more than likely receive open and helpful advice from anyone you meet....that has always been my experience.
Do us a favor...make spring come more quickly!!

Well Ron, funny you should mention that but I think I found the answer - o.k. not THE answer. But an answer nevertheless. After 25 years of abstinence I hit the slopes this season and am once again totally addicted to skiing.

So, now of course I'm counting the week-ends until the end of the skiing season- which - give or take a week or two - coincides nicely with the start of the fishing season

p.s. Belated welcome PJ - see you in Chatham sooooon!

Jim-De,

It would be good if we can meet up. I have started to plan my fishing around the tides already.
I am lucky to be able to return.

Cheers
Mike

Hey Adrian, mind you don't break any vital fishing bones while skiing!

I doubt I'll make it over this June but never say never. Can someone be sure to keep my seat at the Squire warm though, eh!?
