Floriday in April

Hey Guys,

The wife and I planning a trip to Florida in April. We are partial to the Gulf side, but will also consider the Atlantic. We are looking for a low key area that has nice sandy beaches, decent snorkeling & kayaking, and of course DIY fly fishing. We had originally hoped to go to the Bahamas, but couldn't make the numbers work. I checked out the archives but didn't find much info. Any advice would be appreciated.

Steve

Hi, Steve,

My wife and I join another couple every year on Captiva Island for relaxation and fishing. Beautiful swimming beaches on the Gulf side, but I don't know about the snorkeling.

DIY fishing for snook, redfish, ladyfish and sea trout, with the odd jack thrown in. Tarpon begin to show very late in the month, and I've never had one in casting range the times I've gone. There are no bonefish.

There's a resort I'm very fond of and will give you a link if you send me a PM.

Cheers,

Eric

Sannibel/Captiva would be my choice for the family mix; further south for more serious fishing. I'm 1-armed, so let's talk. I'll PM you.
