We were there dude! I reckon you saw the state of us and wanted to keep your shoes dry!

We at Jim Simms' house tonight for dinner... had a good day on North Monomoy today.

A big thank you to John (Striblue) and Jim & Pam for their hospitality on this trip... it's been great.

Well it was very crowded and I do have difficulty recognizing forum guys when disguised as gentlemen sans flats shirt, polarized glasses and a hat! Sounds like you boys are having / had quite a good visit! Shame I had to get back to Boston for business mid-week otherwise I would have been in town more while you were here - I would have enjoyed stalking North Monomoy with you two.

Back home and back to work already... talk about reality check!

Saturday 13th June was a real bonus day on North Monomoy for us as the weather forecast wasn't supposed to be that good - luckily, for those who turned up, it was a very sunny, special day indeed and probably my best ever day on the Cape. I must have seen and had shots at 30+ fish and landed around a dozen sighted fish with the best going 29". At low water we also got into another dozen fish on the south western edge of the crib, blind casting... what a day!

Caught with a back-handed cast against the wind and at fairly close range.

We didn't see the sun too often during our stay but on Hardings (Monday, I think) we did see it again and the fish were everywhere, once the tide had turned. I spoke to an old gent, who had lived on the Cape for 50 years, and he said he hadn't seen busting fish this good in many a year. Result was around ten fish to 29", which pulled pretty good in that rip over the bar.

We caught lots of fish from quite a few locations this time, with a good head of 24 to 26" fish mixed in with the usual 18 to 20" specimens. We also got down to south Monomoy, with John Morin and Co, which was something I've wanted to do for a long time now. The banter between a few of the forum members was priceless... Striblue and Penguine in particular! Nice to finally catch up with you, Pete.

Finally, one of the most impressive things I saw on this trip was Keiths new boat, especially the engines... awesome!

Stevo and Rupe are part of the 10 percent of fishermen that catch 90 percent of the fish. True diehards with excellent fishing skills.

Ran into Austen and four other poms today. They have had good luck, both guided and from shore. They return to the UK tomorrow.

See you this fall or next spring?
