surf fishing pensacola

My sister lives in Pensacola Fla. And I have a wedding to attend down that way. Was wondering if anyone has any experience in fly fishing from the beach around there. We will be there in June for 3 days. So any info would be great Thanks in advance

The beach along Santa Rosa Island State Park used to have Spanish Mackerel and Bonito run along it. Sometimes they were in reach, but often too far out. They get very excited about the Cobia run, but I think that is more mid-summer and you need a boat. There are grass flats inside Santa Rosa that have some big sea-trout, but you'll have to ask around about any wading spots. It's been a long time since my Pensacola days.

Ft. Pickens is the name I was looking for. It's out at the west end pass on Santa Rosa Island. Santa Rosa is where Pensacola Beach is, so there is something for everyone: google it.
