Spring Break

A question for you guys; When does the official 'Spring Break' start on the Cape this year?

I'll be spending time up there from early May although the "official start" is the subject of debate and hinges on things like the new / full moons, appearance of certain blossoms, behavior of various critters etc.

More importantly, are you guys coming over this year and if so, when?

Hi Adrian

It looks like I (maybe Jamie & Silas too) might be heading over for a week in June sometime. I've got to keep costs down as I have a family holiday planned in May and the $ is well up on the at the moment.

Generally, is it cheaper to rent in early June rather than late June on the Cape?

Others will know better than me but I think Memorial day (end of May) is a key date, then again in mid-late July when the school holidays kick in.

Yes dates matter. Do a search on recent threads. The cutoff date varies but most will be cheaper until mid June then spike again toward July until the fall.

There are very (very) affordable cottage rentals if you go in with others. Use the Forum to coordinate. We have a group staying in Chatham third week in June for super cheap $$ (PM Dave17 for info although that one is probably full (?))

Let me know when you're going to be in town.

Why, so that you can bring a spare pair of shoes!?

For me, the first set of springs around the weekend 6th / 7th June looks a good starting point.

Every time I pull on those brown shoes (were once tan) I think "Guiness - Brilliant!"

Stevo, The 7th of June is the beginning of a full moon, and tides that week will be ok, but not as great as the new moon tides of 24 May and 22 June. Regardless, there will be fish around.

Look forward to seeing you, Jamie and Silas. Let me know if you need any assistance.

Stevo we have one slot left for 7 nights in our rental. $30 a night or $210 for the week.

Search under Cape rental on the forum for details.

PM if you're interested.

Thanks for the heads-up Dave. I'm going to check what Jamie and the others are up to first though and also their dates, so if someone wants the place don't save it for me at this stage. I should know within a week or so and will post on here as soon as.
