VTLoon, myself and possibly Jim Dudley are about 95% sure we'll be heading down.

Anyone notice the temperature shift? Dog days are done. Things should be interesting from here on... any pea bunker reports? They should be around.

Was good to meet you all. Thanks to Juro for the demo (wow he can cast) and thanks to James from Beulah for letting us try some rods and all who offered tips on how to cast. I have some practicing to do but overall I found it to be a lot easier then I expected. The ease in switching from left to right and vise versa when dealing with a crosswind was a distinct advantage.

I'm sold on the 2hander for beach and heavy work.

Beulah-clave

I echo what G Series said. I would add that when it looked like a long day of blind casting, the shorter and lighter swing-weight two-hander would look pretty attractive.

Also, although my left rotater cuff doesn't allow me to single-hand lefty, I found that two-handing lefty (with left hand at top, or cross-hand)) was not a problem.

I've found that at times I cast two-handed better lefty than righty, as I have less tendency to overpower the cast/dip the rod tip too far back when I cast lefty with the two-hander.
