Southway/Northway

Since the southway has been closed for nearly two years, we may have a new one that cleanses Pleasant Bay. The new cut on North Beach has all the attributes of the old southway, and more - a huge area that has all the ingrdients for a superlative fishery.

There are a few reports of sorties to the area, but it appears that a little effort on the inside of North Beach could pay big dividends.

After Labor Day, I'll be making more than obligatory forays along that piece of sand.

Now that the cat is out-of-the-bag, what's the latest?

how will you get there, Jim ?

from the east orleans parking lot, it looks about 1.5 miles until you reach the first 'corner' water of the bay.

do you mean by Yak ?

I'm also wondering if the opening of the "northway" will mean good fishing in Crow's Pond or Ryders's Cove. Would cooling water push stripers up into these waters at night? These bodies of water may deserve a late night foray sometime in the fall.
