NOAA help restore Cape Cod's Scargo Lake

Hello,

Some great news for those that see dwindling herring runs on Cape.Cod.
Noaa assisted U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Department of Agricultureís Natural Resources Conservation Service, as well as state and local partners such as the Massachusetts Coastal Zone Managementís Wetlands Restoration Program, the Massachusetts Highway Department, the town of Dennis, and the Sesuit Neck Homeowners Association.

By replacing and increasing the size of a culvert, they were able to renew a 65 acre salt water marsh for migrating herring and other marine life as well as the saltwater marsh itself.

read about it at http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories...3_capecod.html

Greg.
