Riviera Maya (Looking for Profota)

Since I didn't get any responses on the reply to the original thread I figured why not start a new one.

I will be going to the Grand Palladium Resort in Riviera Maya the last week of May 2008.

I have been told that they allow DYI shore fishing along t he northern beach.

Any info/tips will be truly appreciated. Feel free to PM if so desired.

TIA,
Sully

I fished the beach in front of our hotel last year same area and had good success with small bones, jacks and Pompano till I was told that I would be arrested and carted off to Jail by the Mexican army as it was illegal to fish off the beach. Bull I know but it did not give me a warm fuzzy feeling and did ruin the trip somewhat and made my wife very nervous.
There has been a fair bit of discussion on this subject and if you look at some past posts you will be able to read some various account from different people some with the same results. No doubt the fishing is good but some resorts are very much against it for some reason so be careful.
Best of luck ! Trev
