Chatam Parking?

Just where do you guys park to fish the Chatam Light area? Do you park on the causeway and walk back?

I've parked right at the light in the wee hours, and never been bothered. Am I risking a tow?

Thanks,

Jay Horton

RE:Chatam Parking?

Jay the light is open to park from 5pm to 9am, but there is a 30 minute grace period so 4:30pm to 9:30am each day thru the summer as well.

During the off season I'll bet no one will ticket you if you leave a sign saying surf fishing or something, but I'd check with the Chatham Police first.

Big stuff down there now if you can find them. Good spot for the two-hander.

RE:Chatam Parking?

Jay, Just park at the Spaces at the look out across from the lighthouse. There is never a problem in the early morning or even in the evening. Also, they never tow just ticket and that is usually during the high season. At this time of year I am not sure about the ticketing but my educated guess is that you would be ok during the day since the crowds have diminished.

RE:Chatam Parking?

Don't even think of parking on the side streets along the beach (off Main) - even if it is "just a $15.00 fine".

It's rude, it's marked and it makes us all look like jerks if you do it.
