Pete, thanks for taking the time to post the pictures. Looks like the North Beach cut will be somewhat permanent, and the shoaling action at the lighthouse cut will continue.

Dredging the lighthouse cut seems to be a flawed plan, based on the continued shoaling. Maybe no dredging will be required, if the new cut continues to expand.

Regardless, there will be some new structure to explore in about three months.

Still hoping my pipedream prediction comes true - the chatham inlet closes and the inside passage re-connects.

North beach is always moving southward. Those lakes took a lot more water over the past storm and the shoaling is definitely going to help compress tide, certainly shoaling will re-connect the lakes to the main inlet and who knows with a nor'easter on a moon tide...

I didn't know the gulls stayed all winter.

I will reserve any further comment about their intelligence in light of their AIM.
